Beyond prompts and productivity
The bigger questions about AI and medical writing
If AI can produce a convincing article in seconds, what does that mean for the people who have built their careers writing health information?
This reflective workshop explores how AI is changing medical writing – from the way we work and the way readers judge our words to the skills that will give our profession value in the future.
For medical writers, editors and health communicators · With Michelle Guillemard · On-demand webinar: approximately 60–75 minutes

Why this workshop
We have moved past being surprised that AI can write. Now we need to decide what to do with it – and what our expertise is worth.
What you’ll explore
The questions behind the technology
Five connected parts of a conversation about the work, the choices and the future of medical writing.
How the work is changing
From research and drafting to client expectations around speed and cost – and why producing words is only part of the job.
When good writing “sounds like AI”
Should writers change clear, readable prose if readers mistake it for AI? Explore the tension between effectiveness and perceived authenticity.
Where assistance becomes a problem
Position 14 real-world uses on a continuum, from alternative headings to sensitive information and unreviewed medical claims.
Trust, authorship and disclosure
Work through an AI-assisted patient-article scenario: who wrote it, what should the client know and who stands behind the result?
What writers will be valued for
Consider the growing importance of evidence appraisal, judgement, audience understanding, verification and taking responsibility.
How it works
A workshop you can do at your own pace
This on-demand webinar gives you the chance to explore the questions at your own pace: where is AI taking medical writing, what issues do we need to confront and what will our profession be valued for in the years ahead? You’ll work through real examples and come away with a clearer sense of the decisions you want to make in your own work.

Who it’s for
For writers wondering what comes next
This workshop is for medical writers, editors and health communicators who are using AI, considering it or responding to clients who are. It is also for anyone asking how to stay useful and confident when the writing process itself is changing.
You do not need to be an AI expert. This is a workshop about professional judgement, trust and the future of our work – not a catalogue of tools, prompt formulas or productivity hacks.

Your host
Hello! I’m Michelle Guillemard.
I’m the founder of Health Writer Hub. Since 2013, I’ve helped thousands of aspiring and experienced medical writers strengthen their skills, build their confidence and grow their writing careers.
I’ve also spent nearly 20 years working in health and medical communication. As AI changes how we create content, I think we need space to talk about more than tools and prompts. I created this webinar to explore the questions it raises for our work, our responsibilities and the future of our profession.
